Driving Earlier Medical Interventions
Dr. Kryder will be joined by Margrét Vilborg Bjarnadóttir, a PhD Candidate at the MIT Operations Research Center, and David Wilson, President of Windsor Strategy Partners, in a session titled, “Analytics You Should Know, but Don’t.” The panel will address research developed by D2Hawkeye and members of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Operations Research Center, and introduce new modeling ideas, new methods for cost predictions, and validation in the form of sample experiments.
“This discussion will provide actuaries with a first look at research that will have an immediate and direct impact upon underwriting,” said Dr. Kryder. “We believe that actuaries have never before had access to quantifiable, repeatable, prospective, and transparent risk measurements for individuals and population sub-groups. Furthermore, we will demonstrate analytical methods that pinpoint the ‘evidence-based medical’ opportunities which are mission critical for early interventions that improve outcomes and reduce costs.”
