D2Hawkeye is pleased to announce that Dimitris Bertsimas, the Boeing Professor of Operations Research at the Sloan School of Management (MIT), has joined the company's Board of Directors. He has provided guidance for D2Hawkeye's data mining research for the past year. Dr. Bertsimas is the author of leading books in the areas of large scale optimization and decision support systems. He is the winner of numerous awards and a member of the National Academy of Engineering. He was co-founder of Dynamic Ideas, LLC, whose assets were sold to American Express in 2002. The company produced optimization software for asset management companies. Dr. Bertsimas is a world expert in data-mining, and understands well the rationale behind D2Hawkeye's predictive models and the medical rules which D2Hawkeye injects into the databases that the company develops for all of its clients. Upon joining D2's board, Dr. Bertsimas said "I am truly excited by the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of D2. D2's ability to provide timely and focused information to case managers and risk managers is unparalleled. The company is uniquely positioned to become the best medical data mining company in the world." Chris Kryder, MD, D2Hawkeye's Founder & CEO, is equally enthusiastic about Dr. Bertsimas' Board membership. "Dimitris has been working with us to improve our predictive models for the past year; I look forward to drawing from his expertise and experience in his new capacity as a Board member." |
